MK Homebrew Club Spring/Summer Competition 2025

Competition Theme – “Lager, Lager, Lager”
With spring on our doorstep, no better time to enjoy the crisp/clean tastes that many lagers bring.
This competition is a completely open beer style, session to strong, pale to dark, whatever you feel like brewing. But, whatever you enter into the competition MUST have been brewed with a lager yeast.
There are so many lager yeasts available in wet or dry format and some of the more recent ones to hit the market can even ferment at ale temps!
Here are some style ideas to get you thinking: Pilsners, Bocks, Helles, Baltic Porter, Eisbocks! (bonus points!), American/Euro Lager (Pale/amber/dark), Cold IPA’s!, Vienna, Smoked, Marzen etc etc or come up with your own brand new style!
Exact scoring/judging will be worked out in due course to ensure its balanced for an open style competition, but will try and work in factors so its judged on its merits/technical execution etc. So you never know, that American Lager you have been putting off brewing for a while, might actually do well!..
£2.50 entry which all goes into the prize fund and goes to 1st/2nd place winners as Blackened Sun Beers.
